Why is LSU Diversity Giving Day different than any other day?

We want to continue to make a tremendous impact in just 24 hours. Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 will mark the second LSU Diversity Giving Day, an opportunity that will provide us with support to continue serving our students.

Who can participate in LSU Diversity Giving Day?

Anyone can make a gift ($5 minimum) on LSU Diversity Giving Day. Alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate. You can also help the Office of Diversity spread the word by using #LSUDiversityGivingDay on social media.

Do I have to be Greek to make a donation?

You don’t have to be Greek to take part in the challenge. You can donate to the collective pool to support diversity at LSU.

What types of gifts are accepted on LSU Diversity Giving Day?

All types of gifts will be counted. This includes new or additional gifts for this fiscal year and pledge payments. You cannot make a pledge during LSU Diversity Giving Day.

Can I make a pledge?

Pledges will not be counted during LSU Diversity Giving day, only cash gifts. However, if you currently have a pledge and wish to make a payment on it during LSU Diversity Giving Day, that cash payment will be counted.

Can I give to any area as part of LSU Diversity Giving Day?

No. Only gifts made to the Diversity Programs Support Fund will count toward the LSU Diversity Giving Day challenge.

Is my payment secure?

YES! As is the case every day, all payments will be processed using a secure online giving form. The information collected during LSU Diversity Giving Day will be used only by LSU.

Will my gift be tax-deductible?

YES!

What if I’ve already made my gift for FY19 (I donated between July 1 and December 6, 2018)?

Thank you for your loyal support! You can help us reach our goal on Dec. 7, 2018, by making a nominal gift ($5 minimum) to LSU Diversity Giving Day.

My spouse and I are both alumni. Will each count towards the donor goal?

Yes. You will both be credited for the full amount and will both be counted as donors.

My spouse and I are both non-alumni LSU parents or friends. Will we each count towards the donor goal?

No. You will both be counted for the full gift amount but will only count as one donor.

I am an LSU alumnus but my spouse is not. How will our gift count?

You will both be counted for the full gift amount but only count as one donor.
